Walking

Not that you can really tell in these pictures, but she's really getting around well on both feet now. I had to put her in this outfit one last time before I pack it up with the winter clothes.

Beware of the Sippy Cup!

This happened yesterday. I gave Addie her sippy cup and she stumbled and I guess she tried to catch herself while holding on to the cup. I don't think it's too deep, so hopefully will heal quickly.

Recaulking Bathtub

After they painted our bathroom, they recaulked it. But for various reasons, I took it off and recaulked it. My first time was accidentally with clear caulk, so had to take THAT off too. I just tried to view it as a good practice round. I think the final round with the white caulk went pretty well. So now I can check off "learning how to caulk" from my list.

15 Months

Adelaide is really taking off with walking. She can walk more and more each day. Last night she wanted to walk all over Blockbuster and did NOT want to be held in line.
Addie has really been enjoying the picture albums of her 1st year and 1st birthday lately. She'll point at the picture and then pat her chest, telling us she knows that that baby is Addie!

Bathtub

Adelaide's duck collection... She threw all of her bath toys out, one by one while saying "uh-oh!"

What a Girl!

As my dad put it, Addie is now self-disciplined. We've been trying to discipline her for throwing food and sippy-cups by swatting the back of her hand. So last week she was in her highchair eating and looked at me as she held a fist-full over the side. Her eyes seem to question, "What are you going to do about it, Mama?" I said, "Addie, don't drop it please." And of course that was her cue to do so. But then, still keeping both eyes on me, she took one hand and swatted the back of her other hand! It was as if she was thinking, "I know what's coming so I might as well do it myself. Then maybe Mom won't and it won't hurt as much."
In other news:
  • She loves her toothbrush. It's a good deterent from the toilet paper. She brushes her teeth, chews on it, and even will offer to brush our teeth. It went on a walk with us the other day.
  • Just this week, if she's in something (cart, stroller, exersaucer, wagon) and wants to get out, she'll clap twice and then hold up her little pudgy arms with this questioning look, as if to say "Will you please get me out, now?"
  • Adelaide loves to hear her voice inflection when she says "uh-oh," so we've been hearing that quite a bit lately in our house.
  • In obedience to her father, she's been practicing walking more each day. Yesterday she took 5-6 steps at the park; but was distracted by the yummy dirt and grass.
  • Her mommy finished putting pictures and writing comments in her baby book; and 1st year picture album and 1st Birthday picture album; so if you stop by, be sure to take a look!

Funny Girl!

Snack time turns into a live version of Michelangelo's "Creation of Adam" This is how we found her when we checked on her tonight. Evidentally, she huddled all her animals together to form a "bed" of sorts. How do her arms not fall asleep?!

Just more of Addie

She likes to hide between our legs. Her outfit matched her bedroom this day. She confiscated a cookie that had fallen off the rack. Such a pretty day! She's still not walking, but wants to. Piano lessons with Coco and Addie.

Meeting Charlie

My cousin Adrienne and her 4-week old son Charlie came down to Columbus from Nashville for a few days, so Addie and I went over to Columbus to meet him!
Here's Addie eyeing Charlie's paccy, since we're trying to "wheen" her off of hers. Mallory and Margaret, Adrienne and Charlie, Addie and I
