We started out July 15 from Montgomery. But before we left, we went by Mrs. Little's house to say goodbye before she moves to Jackson. She did the shadow-embroidery on this dress and I constructed it, so it was special to get a picture of Adelaide in the dress with Mrs. Little. Schaeffer wasn't really up for a picture!
We then headed off to Memphis to stay at the Smith's - David's younger sister Sara and family. The cousins had a great time playing while we visited.
Saturday we left late morning for St. Louis. We stayed Saturday with the Spanns and enjoyed their pool and a grilled dinner on the patio.
Sunday we went to Crossroads Presbyterian Church, where we went when we lived in STL. It was great to worship with them and re-connect with friends.
After church we went to the Perkin's house - seminary friends with 3 kids. They had a great time playing inside and outside on the slip-n-slide (a 1st for Adelaide).
We made it to the hotel mid-morning and met up with the Smiths and Jarvis' at the pool.
The cousins watched some TV while we finished getting ready for lunch at Mills Mall.

Monday night we went to Ted Drewes for frozen custard after dinner, and then drove around St. Louis a little. It's so nice to be back in STL, in a big city! Lots of fun memories.
Tuesday morning we had breakfast with the Jarvis' and then said goodbyes.
We had lunch with the Hagers and got to meet their two sweeties.
Tuesday night we had dinner with the DeVries and got to meet their two sweet girls. Sophie had already gone to bed by the time we took pictures, so here's Addie, Isabelle and Schaeffer.
Wednesday we spent 7 hours driving from St. Louis to Dayton, Ohio to visit David's grandparents, Mimi and Rory. We tried to get an early start to make it to Dayton in time for dinner. After dinner we walked around the park across the street. We settled in and finally got the kids down; then stayed up talking until 11 pm!
We said our goodbyes to Mimi and Rory late Thursday morning and headed to Tennessee. Schaeffer had fallen asleep before we even made it on to the interstate!
But a little while later he was awake and silly as ever, balancing my sunglasses on his sandals.
We had lots of traffic delays but finally made it by early evening.
Our 2nd to last stop was in Franklin, TN for 2 nights to visit my cousin Adrienne and her family. Adelaide and I were thrilled to take care of Ellie and give her a bath. Charlie shared his trains with Schaeffer, as well as his bed with us. They had a great time reading, wrestling, watching Curious George, and swimming. We adults had a great time catching up on life!
Saturday morning we left for Huntsville, AL to stay 2 nights with David's parents.
