*** All the pictures are described above the picture. Sorry i never do the same thing on my posts - but at least I do let you know what you're looking at!
So tired this morning! Addie was too. Maybe London is finally hitting us. Got her down about 10:30 and then made plans to go to Wimpole Hall and Farm with my friend Dolores and her 20 mo. old daughter Nancy. Turns out Dolores’ husband Eddie wants to go to, so they picked us up at 12:30. Nice to have a carseat to put Addie into! The farm is technically 8 miles out of town but took 30 minutes to get there. They had never been, and it was a gorgeous albeit quite warm day for an outing. After we bought tickets (in the former stables – pretty impressive!) we went to the restaurant for lunch. Then walked to the farm – saw this interesting heard of goats as well as the folly (second picture below) way out in the field. At the farm we saw these woolly sheep – they’ve got to be hot! More sheep – ‘bah!’ Addie got lots of chances to practice her farm animal sounds. This is the barn with the old-style thatched roof, with old tractors and buggies below. Then saw bunnies... ...cows... ...pigs... ...and got to groom donkeys. A playground! The girls ran to it like magnets. ‘More Please!’ The dairy, with interesting tools of the trade inside. Eddie getting a high five from a goat. I thought this chicken was pretty; sorry for the chicken wire. The girls talking about the tree? I liked this hay stack – reminded me of ‘Little Boy Blue.’ Cows in the pasture on the way to the house. This was the little church on the way to the house. This place was like a little town! The front of the house – look real closely for Dolores, Eddie, Nancy and Addie. The view from the front steps. The back of the house. I didn’t really like the house all that much – too fancy and ornate. I liked Anglesey Abbey much better, but the farm here was nice for the girls. Addie and Nancy giving each other a goodbye hug.
